Job Summary

Part of a larger team delivering high quality Computer, Network, Storage and End-User Infrastructure technology solutions, on-going support to the business.  Independently completes infrastructure project assignments.  Plan, research, evaluate, design, and engineer the enterprise's technology infrastructure.  Provide technical support and troubleshooting, cost estimates, justifications, and recommendations.  Produces technical documentation, support and configuration.  Manage, plan, and maintain technical platforms including upgrading systems.  Monitor system performance and installs and configures hardware.  Responsible for collaborating with other Job Families such as Project Managers, Architects, Solution Engineers, Technicians, Business Analysts to deliver consistent, reliable technology solutions that leverage AEP's technology standards, architectures and best practices.

Job Description

This role requires frequent onsite visits to our Columbus, OH office, typically at least 2-3 times per week.

Essential Job Functions:

Working independently, responsibilities include the following related to Computer, Network, Storage, Cloud and End-User infrastructure: 

• Perform onsite duties in Columbus, Ohio, including testing hardware, executing image builds, and providing support to the hardware depot.

• Perform infrastructure project assignments. Plan, research, evaluate and design infrastructure solutions.

• Provide a high level of technical support and analysis, operation, administration, and troubleshooting activities. Adhere to AEP’s approval processes as part of change management, incident management and trouble response scenarios.

• Prepare cost estimates, justifications, application requirements, alternative solutions, and technical recommendations.     

• Prepare technical documentation including procedures, manuals, and reports.                                      

• Review and adhere to budgeting and approval processes while assisting with annual and project planning.   

• May provide training and mentoring, as well as work direction, to others on the team.

Minimum Requirements:

Infrastructure Engineer Senior (SG7):

Education: Bachelor's degree in computer science, engineering, or related technical field is required. 

Experience: 5 years of relevant work experience is required. An equivalent combination of education and related experience may be considered.

Infrastructure Engineer Principal (SG8):

Education: Bachelor's degree in computer science, engineering, or related technical field is required.

Experience: 7 years of relevant work experience is required. An equivalent combination of education and related experience may be considered.

Preferred Qualifications:

• 2 years of maintaining computer hardware and creating OS builds

• Strong experience working with workstation hardware (e.g., HP, Dell) and image build processes.

• A strong understanding of SCCM, Intune, and JAMF technologies is preferred.

• Knowledge of PowerShell or other scripting languages.

• Ability to create and distribute Microsoft Configuration Manager applications, packages, and task sequences.

• Advanced knowledge of current PC hardware and peripherals.

Compensation:

Infrastructure Engineer Senior (SG7): $85,081 - $106,354

Infrastructure Engineer Principal (SG8): $96,110 - $124,941

$85,081.00-106,352.50 USD
