Job Summary
The Vice President, Center of Excellence (CoE) is a senior leadership role responsible for driving the strategic vision, operational excellence, and continuous improvement initiatives across the Transmission organization. This role will lead the CoE team in developing and implementing best practices, fostering innovation, establishing key performance indicators (KPIs), and ensuring the highest standards of performance and efficiency. The VP, CoE will collaborate with cross-functional teams to identify opportunities for improvement, standardization, streamlining processes, enhancing overall organizational effectiveness and ensuring alignment with organizational goals, industry standards, and regulatory requirements.Job Description
Strategic Leadership:
- Develop and execute the strategic vision for the Center of Excellence, aligning with the Transmission’s goals and objectives.
- Establish best-in-class frameworks, methodologies, and governance structures to support operational excellence.
Operational Excellence:
- Lead initiatives to improve operational efficiency, quality, and performance across the organization.
- Development of metrics, data analytics and performance tracking, including industry benchmarking.
Innovation:
- Foster a culture of innovation by identifying and implementing new technologies, methodologies, and best practices.
- Facilitate engagement with external R&D organizations, technology providers and industry collaborations.
Process Improvement:
- Provide oversight, optimization, development and documentation of end-to-end processes in transmission.
Collaboration:
- Work closely with cross-functional teams to identify areas for improvement and drive continuous improvement initiatives.
Change Management:
- Lead change management efforts to ensure successful implementation of new processes and technologies.
Talent Development:
- Mentor and develop CoE team members, fostering a culture of continuous learning and professional growth.
Stakeholder Engagement:
- Build and maintain strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders to ensure alignment and support for CoE initiatives.
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:
Education:
- Bachelor’s degree in business administration, engineering, operations management or a related field; MBA or advanced degree preferred.
Experience:
- Minimum of 10 years of experience in the utility industry, with a proven track record of driving operational excellence and continuous improvement initiatives.
- Demonstrated team leadership.
OTHER REQUIREMENTS:
- Strong strategic thinking, leadership, and communication skills; ability to influence and drive change across the organization.
- Deep understanding of best practices in operational excellence, process improvement, and change management.
- Innovative mindset, results-oriented, and a strong commitment to continuous improvement.
