Job Skills
- The AEPS Security Clerk is a Part-time, non-exempt, unarmed position responsible for providing Pass and ID services in support of West Sound Base Operating Support Contract Security Services
- The Security Clerk will ensure that only authorized personnel and vehicles have proper documentation to allow facility access
- The Security Clerk position requires an individual who has excellent attention to detail, communication skills, and customer service skills
- Manages and maintains a government-furnished database of badge issuance, fingerprinting, and temporary passes
- Safeguards all identification documents
- Issues permanent badges in accordance with instructions, directives, and local procedures
- Prepares and issues Military Limited Area (MLA) badges to authorized personnel in accordance with security protocols set forth by SWFPAC Instructions for Access
- Verifies applicant identification and provides fingerprinting services for security clearances, passport issuance, and other identification requirements
- Provides badge coding for authorized personnel and entry into the Access Control System database
- Issues Visitor Badges to authorized personnel having proper documentation to allow facility access
- Maintains a neat, clean, and professional appearance and demeanor and conducts oneself in a manner that promotes a positive image of AEPS

Requirements
- Must possess and maintain a “Secret” clearance
- Must be a U.S. citizen
- Must successfully pass an initial drug screening and periodic follow-up testing
- Must successfully complete a background check
- Must possess a valid driver’s license
- Must be 21 years of age, or be an honorably discharged veteran
- Must have 20/20 correctable vision in each eye; be able to hear the conversational voice and distinguish basic colors
- Must have ability to treat all persons with courtesy and respect and demonstrate impartial enforcement of regulations
- Must have excellent customer service and communication skills
- Must be computer proficient and able to work with databases
- Must always demonstrate professional conduct
- Must have the ability to make independent and good-judgment decisions within proper policy and procedures
- Must possess the skill and ability to read, write, and converse clearly in English
- Must be able to work (mission essential) regardless of weather conditions, Force Protection Condition, work rotating shifts, nights, weekends, holidays
- Must successfully complete any required training and be able to follow directions
- Must be able to maintain confidentiality pertaining to work site operations so as not to cause a breach in installation security or interrupt continuity of operations
