About the Position
We are seeking a highly skilled American Sign Language (ASL) Interpreter to provide educational support services for students who are deaf or hard of hearing.
Key Responsibilities:
- Interpret for students, teachers, and staff during classes, meetings, and other educational events;
- Communicate effectively with students, parents, and school staff to ensure seamless academic experiences;
- Maintain confidentiality and adhere to all applicable laws and regulations regarding student information;
Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in ASL/English Interpretation or a related field;
- Certification as a qualified interpreter through National Association of the Deaf (NAD) or World Federation of the Deaf (WFD);
- Minimum 2 years of experience working as an ASL interpreter in a school setting;
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills;
Preferred Qualifications:
- Master's degree in ASL/English Interpretation or a related field;
- Experience working with diverse populations and age groups;
- Proficiency in written English and ASL;
