MSAT Process Data Science & Digital Transformation (MSAT DSD) is a transversal team within the Global MSAT organization. MSAT DSD is the data/digital DNA within the processes allowing us to ensure best in class manufacturing & analytical processes, especially by focusing on data/digital innovations & excellence, aiming to guarantee acceleration and securing launches & improvement as well as sustainability for our current processes.
The Process Engineer III position is in DSD Mechanistic Modeling & Process Control group. The group develops and implements advanced process modeling and technologies (e.g. Digital twins, PAT) to enable *** to better understand, monitor, and control the manufacturing operations, and deliver innovative, robust, and cost-effective next-generation processes. The group is highly cross functional in its interactions across R&D and manufacturing, and provides scientific, technical, process engineering expertise to these organizations.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
The successful candidate will support *** global biologics manufacturing sites and other MSAT functional groups with development and implementation of process modeling and new technologies for improved process tech transfer/scale-up, monitoring and control strategies:
•Develop mechanistic/hybrid models to understand and predict the behavior of Drug Substance (DS) upstream/downstream or Drug Product (DP) processes.
•Develop and implement advanced process modeling and technologies (e.g. Digital twins, PAT Raman) to achieve RFT process tech transfer/scale-up and enable real-time process monitoring/control.
•Support process investigations and improvement with modeling expertise and process knowledge.
•Collaborate with colleagues and external partners from various functions, such as R&D, Manufacturing, Quality, and Digital.
KEY QUALIFICATIONS
•Experience with biopharmaceutical process modeling (mechanistic/hybrid modeling, chemometric modeling e.g. PAT Raman) and process control. Strong understanding of cell culture/bioreactor operation is a plus.
•Experience with advanced data analysis/programming e.g. Python.
•Master/PhD degree in Chemical/Biochemical Engineering or related engineering/science discipline. 3 years of relevant experience.
