Tree Climber/Trimmer

Climber Job Description

• Carrying out all maintenance duties allocated by the Foreman.
• Understanding and carrying out verbal and written instructions.
• Assisting with tree removals, pruning, and debris disposals.
• Learning techniques and the proper use of tools from senior or more experienced crew members.
• Safely using tools and equipment like chippers and chainsaws to carry out maintenance tasks.
• Ensuring all sites are kept clean and free of hazards.
• Inspecting equipment and tools and performing repairs and maintenance when required.
• Using the appropriate gear and observing safety protocols.
• Reporting any issues or safety hazards to the Foreman or other relevant parties.
• Assumes other duties and responsibilities as assigned,
• Performs other duties as assigned.

Physical Requirements/ Working Environment

• Ability to lift up to forty (40) lbs., bend stoop, and work safely around equipment, materials, supplies and other items to be handled,
• Exposure to weather and hazardous conditions.

Certifications:

• CDL is a preferred but not required
• CPR/First Aid Certification,
• Certified Tree Safety Professional (CTSP) is a plus.

Other Experience:

• Experience in Forestry, Arboriculture or Horticulture a plus,
• Tree Identification skills and the ability to read maps preferred,
• Must have exceptional written and verbal communication skills, strong problem-solving abilities, the ability to multitask and attention to detail,
• Must be able to work alone, outdoors in various weather conditions and terrain.

Job Types: Full-time, Contract

Pay: $41.02 per hour
