JOB TITLE: Rhine Air Lead
DEPARTMENT: Production
REPORTS TO: Machine Shop Manager
POSITION SUMMARY:
We are currently seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Lead to join our team at the Rhine Air facility in Ararat, VA. This working lead role is integral to our manufacturing process, ensuring the efficient and accurate assembly of our high-quality Rhine Air products. The Lead will operate independently most of the time while also directing the activities of others as needed to meet production goals and maintain workflow efficiency.
Key Responsibilities:
- Serve as a working lead, performing hands-on assembly while providing direction to others when necessary.
- Oversee workflow and prioritize tasks to meet production deadlines, ensuring efficiency and quality.
- Perform hands-on assembly of components and products following detailed instructions, blueprints, and work orders.
- Assemble fabricated components with precision and attention to quality.
- Use a variety of hand tools, wrenches, ratchets, screwdrivers, cordless drills, drill presses, sanders, and other specialized equipment.
- Conduct quality checks throughout the assembly process to identify defects or inconsistencies and ensure compliance with company standards.
- Follow simple wiring diagrams to assemble and verify electrical connections.
- Complete job and inspection sheets and inspect parts during the assembly process.
- Maintain company inventory through regular organizing, cleaning, and cataloging of items.
- Electronically track and place merchandise in inventory, lifting items as necessary and operating forklifts and pallet jacks for large goods.
- Process work orders and print work instructions as needed.
- Work independently while ensuring tasks are completed accurately and efficiently.
- Provide guidance, support, and on-the-job training to other team members as required.
- Maintain a clean and organized work area, following all safety regulations and company policies.
- Assist in troubleshooting and resolving assembly-related issues to improve product quality and efficiency.
- Accurately enter details of received deliveries into inventory and count/record stock levels during stocktaking.
- Demonstrate awareness and pride in craftsmanship while producing and assembling high-quality products.
- Foster a collaborative and productive work environment while ensuring adherence to company policies and safety standards.
Qualifications & Skills:
- Previous experience in an assembly or manufacturing role preferred.
- Leadership experience or the ability to oversee and direct work processes as a working lead.
- Ability to read and interpret technical drawings, schematics, and work instructions.
- Strong attention to detail and a commitment to producing high-quality work.
- Mechanically inclined with proficiency in using hand and power tools.
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to multitask efficiently.
- Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs. safely.
- Must be able to stand for long periods of time.
- Experience with ERP systems and inventory management is a plus.
Other Duties:
- Additional responsibilities may be assigned by the supervisor as needed.
SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES: As needed.
This position does not require personal protective equipment except on the shop floor where Safety Glasses are required by all.
