UAS PILOT I are responsible for collecting the imagery data that is leveraged by the aerialPLOT’s software platform for ag research. UAS Pilots are the first important part of aerialPLOT's methodologies. You will cover a broad geography and spend time traveling between a number of locations collecting drone imagery and uploading it to aerialPLOT platform. You will be the company representative in the field and will need to always ensure professionalism. You will start at aerialPLOT by collecting drone imagery over a diverse geography. You will go through a company training process and learn how we collect imagery. You will then be taught how to compile the imagery and upload it to the aerialPLOT platform. Significant organization and note taking is a requirement of the job. Safety is an absolute must, as is always being professional. This is an ideal role for a recent graduate.
Candidates must be located in Davenport, IA area only. This position is early career and senior candidates will not be considered.
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
· Associates or Bachelors Degree in Agronomy, Science, Engineering or Technology related field.
· Part 107 License Required
· Agriculture interest and/or understanding is desired.
· Technical savvy is required, including significant comfort with computer software
· Excellent communication skills
· Ability to work long hours during key crop growing seasons and have flexibility in schedule. Overnight stays required 3-4 nights per week during growing season, less near the end of the season, and candidates located more centrally to sites will have less travel.
License And Certification Requirements
· Must maintain a clean driving record with the ability to pass a driving background check.
· Must be 21 years of age and possess a valid US driver’s license
· Must possess FAA Part 107
UAS Pilots follow specific SOPs, leverage aerialPLOT software, and maintain professionalism in the field. Research Technicians at aerialPLOT require extensive travel, including overnight stays up to 75% of the week during peak season, walking through uneven and rough terrain, and lifting more than 50 lbs. Company vehicle and equipment is provided to complete the required tasks, although are not available for personal use.
No relocation is provided and candidates must be located within the indicated geographies. aerialPLOT does not currently sponsor visas.
Salary : $59,000 - $65,000
