Aerie Healthcare is seeking a Support Specialist to join our dynamic multidisciplinary treatment team. As a crucial member of our organization, you’ll play a pivotal role in providing providing support, guidance, and health and wellness education to adolescents in need.
Responsibilities
- Provide emotional support and encouragement to Aerie participants.
- Provide appropriate supervision to ensure the safety and wellbeing of Aerie participants.
- Assist in crisis intervention situations, providing immediate support and collaborating with the treatment team to ensure a comprehensive and coordinated response.
- Work closely with psychiatrists, therapists, and other Aerie Healthcare staff to ensure a cohesive and integrated approach to care.
- Participate in group therapy sessions to assist Aerie Therapists in group facilitation and management.
- Collaborate in the development of curriculum and co-facilitate non-clinical services (i.e. Health and Wellness, Art, Cooking, etc.)
- Utilizing Electronic Medical Record (EMR) software, ensure that all services provided are appropriately documented per best practices.
- Adhere to ethical standards and maintain client confidentiality.
Qualifications
- Associate’s degree from an accredited college or university in psychology, education, or related field.
- Prior experience working with adolescents in a mental health or behavioral health setting.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to effectively engage with adolescents, families, and colleagues.
- Demonstrated ability to approach challenges with empathy and patience, creating a supportive and understanding environment for adolescents.
- Commitment to cultural competence and providing inclusive, client-centered care.
