Your role will involve contributing directly to our commitment to innovation and improved patient care.PURPOSE OF THE JOB :
The Director of Marketing Communications will support education, awareness, and adoption of Aerin Medical’s products in the otolaryngology (Ear, Nose & Throat) space. The person in this role will guide branding and messaging for Aerin and its products, lead the implementation of commercial communication programs, manage patient and HCP advertising and other outreach campaigns, manage the company’s public relations initiatives and lead commercial event efforts, including conference strategy and execution.ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS : Lead a Marketing Communications team that excels at strategic planning, operational execution, cross-functional collaboration, marketing program effectiveness, and sound budget management.Develop annual marketing plans for Marketing Communications and Events, providing consistent analysis, feedback, and adjustments to achieve business and financial goals. Ensure successful execution initiatives and programs that support company objectives.Guide creation and execution of brand strategy across the company, including HCP and patient marketing. Create and maintain brand and messaging guidelines.Driving the enhancement and ongoing management of the company’s internet site(s), presentations, marketing collateral and promotional items (including print and digital fulfillment).Manage national and local PR efforts, including maintaining plan / tracker, editorial calendar, press releases, social media channels and media relations.Manage brand / creative agency, graphic design, digital and web marketing vendor relationships.Play a key advisor role in packaging / labeling decisions.Plan and lead execution of all communications and event plans. Ensure brand and message consistency in all communications efforts, including marketing materials (clinician and patient collateral), presentations, sales tools, tradeshow assets, online communications, and digital marketing.Act as the marketing liaison, marcom reviewer and brand advocate for the routing of marketing materials. Initiate and manage approval processes of marketing collateral for the company in compliance with all regulatory and quality system procedures and policies.Manage and execute medical / scientific conferences, including representing Aerin with industry professional associations for conference related discussions (e.g., sponsorship opportunities, exhibit space, and exhibitor registration), conference budget preparation, execution and reconciliation, venue evaluation and selection, contract negotiation, vendor selection, staffing plans, event timelines, onsite management, post-event survey, analysis, and reporting.Consistently drive toward corporate goals and ensure product and company positioning, branding, and messaging are maintained.Requirements8 years of related Marketing Communications experience in the medical technology industry is requiredExperience effectively managing Marketing Communications teams is requiredAdobe and MS Office skills (Word, PowerPoint, Excel, Outlook)Direct graphic design experience preferred, extensive experience managing graphic designers is acceptable5 years of Digital and Social Marketing managementExperience managing corporate websites (WordPress experience a plus), Tradeshows / Events and working with a CRM platformExperience in strategic planning and cross-functional collaboration with senior management, sales management, and key operational groupsExperience negotiating, developing, and maintaining short- and long-term consulting and third-party vendor agreementsStrong work ethic and the ability to work independently with a high sense of organizational accountabilityStrong interpersonal skills, superb oral and written communication skills and analytical capabilitiesHighest level of personal and professional integrityAbility to travel to major conferences, symposiums, sales meetings and customer programs (10-20% travel requirement)
