Field Service Technician 2

Position Overview

Position requires the application of diverse knowledge of electrical and mechanical principles and service practices. Basic knowledge of internal combustion engines and turbines related to exhaust emissions and performance is required. Performance of duties requires the capability to install, commission, service, and troubleshoot both mechanical and electrical standard AeriNOX SCR systems, along with the ability to work in multi-disciplinary activities. Strong verbal and communication skills will be required to effectively represent AeriNOx in field activities.

Essential Position Duties and Responsibilities

• Ability to work individually and in a team environment.
• Provide SCR system service and operation expertise to customers.
• Communicate with internal personnel to obtain and disseminate critical information.
• Ability to perform detailed operational analysis of exhaust emission and heat recovery systems.
• Routinely perform detailed field performance analysis of mechanical systems. Work will include optimization, troubleshooting, and maintenance of mechanical systems.
• Coordinate goals, work plans, and assigned responsibilities.
• Working knowledge of measurement and monitoring instrumentation.
• Ability to compile and analyze field operational and performance data.
• Provide remote troubleshooting support to customers.
• Proactive communication with customers for annual SCR system service work needs.
• Assist with management of service parts inventory and filling customer orders (parts labeling, check-in/out, stock/re-order levels, shipping/receiving, cycle count)

Competencies

• Knowledge of basic computer/networking systems and configuration
• Use of and minor modifications to Human Machine Interface (HMI) software
• Use of and minor modifications to Programmable Logic Controllers (PLC) software
• Knowledge of basic mechanical system operation and troubleshooting
• Knowledge of basic electrical system operation and troubleshooting
• Use of MS office suite
• Use of hand and power tools

Physical Requirements

• Required to lift up to 40 lbs.
• Regularly required to sit, stand, bend, reach, utilize various equipment and tools, and move about the job site.

Travel Requirements

• Extensive short-term travel will be required for this position (~60-75%). Travel is not local but requires flying to travel to customer sites for service work.

Position Qualifications

• Ideal, but not required, an Associate of Science Degree in Engineering Technologies
• 3-5 years of related electrical and mechanical experience
• Strong communication skills including the ability to translate technical information into basic understanding, and the ability to communicate effectively and tactfully with a diversity of people at an individual and team level.
• A valid Driver’s License and proof of insurance are required, and ability to contract use of rental vehicle..
• Must be insurable per Company Insurance Guidelines.
• Requires regular and random testing in accordance with DOT Drug & Alcohol Screening.

Pay: $33.15 - $39.16 per hour

Expected hours: 40 – 60 per week
