Summary Reporting to the Director of Materials, the Inventory Specialist will assist in daily operations of the Materials department. Assist Materials department to ensure inventory is available when needed in support of aircraft maintenance activities within the hangar and while deployed to field locations.   Specific ResponsibilitiesReasonable accommodations may be made to enable qualified individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions. Assist Director of Materials in daily operations. Have a working knowledge of the stores department inventory. Order and maintain a working stock of inventory. Demonstrate required computer and language skills to accomplish day-to-day tasks. Demonstrate physical ability for heavy lifting. Display skills for operation of AFI maintenance equipment. Check and maintain satellite storage hangars. Ensure calculations, quantities and part serial numbers correct when entering or pulling inventory. Ensure all discrepancies are accounted for and appropriately documented. Other duties as assigned.   Required Knowledge, Skills and Abilities Exceptional ability to communicate and convey information, inter/ intradepartmental, via multiple mediums. Proactive ability and desire to problem solve in a dynamic environment. Superior customer relationship management skills. Ability to maintain confidentiality in all matters. Determining causes of errors and deciding what to do about it. Use logic and reasoning to identify solutions.   Education and Experience Required Education and Experience High school diploma or equivalent Prefer knowledge of U.S. standard sizing hardware fasteners Must be able to effectively use software programs to include Microsoft Office and proprietary enterprise resource planning ERP system.   Preferred Education and Experience Associate’s degree in a related field or, One year of experience, OR Two years of directly related experience   Competencies Expert data entry skills, alpha and numeric, with a high level of accuracy. Expert organizational, multi-tasking skills and follow through skills required. Expert attention to detail. Proficient with Microsoft Office programs and ERP systems. Strong communication and interpersonal skills. Dependable, flexible and self-starting. Supervisory Responsibility None. Work Environment This job operates in an office and hangar environment. This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers, filing cabinets and fax machines. The noise level in the work environment is usually at a typical office level and while in the hangar with frequent periods of moderately loud noises. Exposure to industrial chemical smells, fragrances, animals, etc. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently exposed to fumes or airborne particles, moving mechanical parts and vibration. The employee is occasionally exposed to a variety of extreme outside weather conditions.   Job Knowledge: English Language - Ability to read, write and understand the English language. Accuracy - This includes meeting quality standards for services, and evaluation of information provided to identify incomplete data and follow through to resolve according to established guidelines. Mathematics – General knowledge of arithmetic. Recall- Ability to retain serial numbers, quantities, location of inventory and accurately identify discrepancies. Computer Literacy- Extensive use of enterprise resource planning and Microsoft Office software   Job Abilities: Move, traverse - Must be able to move about inside office, hangar and around aircraft. Communicate, Detect, Converse with, Discern, Convey, Express oneself, Exchange information - Must be able to frequently communicate and exchange accurate information. Detect, Determine, Perceive, Identify, Recognize, Judge, Observe, Inspect, Estimate, Assess - Must be able detect objects at close range (within a few feet from the observer). Remove, Transport, Position, Put, Install - Occasionally moves tools and equipment up to 100 pounds.   Work Environment This job operates in an office and hangar environment. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is constantly required to move, talk and hear. The employee is constantly required to stand; walk; use hands to finger, handle or feel; and reach with hands and arms.   The employee is constantly required to sit, climb, balance, stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl. The employee must frequently lift and move up to 10 pounds and occasionally lift and move objects up to 25 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus. Regular exposure to a hangar environment with walking/traversing hazards, uneven surfaces and stairs.   Position Type and Expected Hours of Work This is a full-time position. Days and hours of work will vary, typically Monday through Friday, 7:00 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. Frequent, and possible short notice, need to work extended hours due to operational demand.   Travel Occasional travel, primarily local during the business day.   Work Authorization/Security Clearance Valid Driver License SIDA Badge   The pay range for this position in Washington state is $20.00 - $22.00 per hour; the hourly rate is influenced by a variety of factors including, job-related knowledge, skills, experience, certifications, and geographical locations. Employees will be eligible to enroll in the company's medical/dental/vision insurance, flexible spending account, retirement plan with match contributions, company paid life & disability and financial wellness programs. Hired applicants will receive paid leave and may be eligible for bonuses. This information is provided per the WA State EPOA.
