Job Overview
We are seeking a skilled Mechanic to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for diagnosing, repairing, and maintaining various types of machinery and equipment. This role requires a strong understanding of mechanical systems and the ability to work independently or as part of a team. The Mechanic will play a crucial role in ensuring that all equipment operates efficiently and safely.

Duties

• Diagnose mechanical issues using appropriate tools and techniques.
• Perform routine maintenance on machinery to prevent breakdowns.
• Repair or replace defective parts using hand tools, power tools, and precision measuring instruments.
• Conduct inspections of equipment to identify potential problems before they escalate.
• Maintain accurate records of repairs and maintenance performed on equipment.
• Collaborate with other team members to ensure timely completion of projects.
• Utilize an ohmmeter for testing electrical components and systems as needed.
• Follow safety protocols and maintain a clean work environment.

Skills

• Proficient in the use of hand tools, power tools, and diagnostic equipment.
• Strong problem-solving skills with attention to detail.
• Ability to read and interpret technical manuals and schematics.
• Familiarity with electrical systems and the use of an ohmmeter is preferred.
• Excellent communication skills for effective collaboration with team members.
• Ability to work independently while managing multiple tasks effectively.
• Strong commitment to safety practices in the workplace.

Qualifications

• Have one year experience performing vehicle maintenance
• Have a vehicle maintenance certificate from an accredited vocational/trade school or
• Have one or more Medium/Heavy Truck ASE Certifications
• Have necessary tools to perform assigned tasks
• Have Class A license

Working Conditions

• Exposure to heavy traffic areas while performing the duties of the job
• Exposure to considerable amounts of dust, diesel fumes and noise
• Exposure to climate conditions of the geographic area
• Exposure to chemicals, oils, greases, paints or other irritants
• Hours may vary due to operational need
