What are the responsibilities and job description for the Assembly/Quality Inspector position at Aero-Mach Labs?
Job Purpose: Assembles productions parts and their sub systems. Inspects assemblies, subassemblies, and completed parts and/or articles for conformance to specifications by performing the following duties. Works under minimal supervision of the Production Supervisor.
Essential Functions include the following. Other duties may be assigned.
- Inspects parts and assemblies in various stages of the manufacturing process to ensure conformity with specifications by visual inspection, measurement, and testing.
- Examines production documents to ensure that all assembly, inspection, and testing steps were performed according to specifications.
- Carries out production processes by measuring and mixing conductive coating; drilling and sewing elements and caps; installing caps, socks, studs, bases, pins, and heat shrink tubing; cutting, drilling and threading shrouds; working with paint, paint thinner, and various chemicals; and gluing elements.
- Performs final inspections on manufactured articles and gather work order records ensuring paperwork is complete and acceptable and parts are ready for shipping.
- Ensure compliance with all AS9100 documents and complete audit reviews with auditors.
- Verifies package contents are in accordance with the packing list/purchase orders sent with every package. Identifies and notates and discrepancies in the paperwork.
- Complete assigned tasks as directed by supervisor.
- Monitors and ensures work areas and building are kept clean, orderly and audit ready at all times.

- High school diploma or general education degree (GED); and one-year previous quality inspection preferred; or equivalent combination of training and experience.
- Ability to read and comprehend complex instructions, work orders, and memos.
- To perform this job successfully, an individual should be able to operate the equipment used in the department, including but not limited to the computer, cutting machine, and insulation meters.
- Ability to apply basic math, including adding, subtracting, multiplying, and dividing in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.
- Ability to communicate verbally one-on-one situations with management and co-workers, including the ability to speak simple sentences; listens to others without interrupting and gets clarification when needed.
- Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions and procedures furnished in written, oral, or diagram form. Ability to deal with problems involving a few concrete variables in standardized situations. Ability to perform repetitive tasks.
- Ability to interact in a positive and professional manner and to develop and maintain strong working relationships with co-workers and supervisor.
