Description: STAR Classroom Teacher
Job Summary: Teacher will work with a multidisciplinary team to provide educational programming to students with autism spectrum disorder as well as moderate to severe mental impairment. Students may also have physical and/or significant health impairments. Duties may include development and implementation of IEP goals, data collection, behavior management (including physical restraint), positioning, feeding, lifting/transferring, and equipment maintenance. Communication with families and other team members is essential. Use of assistive technology and computers also required.
Candidates who have training or experience in techniques such as ABA, verbal behavior, TEACCH and similar methodologies will be given priority over candidates who do not have that training or experience.
Qualifications: Illinois Professional Educator's License: LBS 1 Endorsement
