Mission description
The APUL pilots a program starting from program award (or management decision for internal R&D project), design and development, qualification and certification, first delivery and Entry Into Service (EIS), transfer of product to the final production location (i.e. Mexico, MS, and NJ) and continue to manage for a minimum of 12 months after EIS to manage and monitor maintenance and life cycle costs. The position will be responsible for planning, carrying out and coordinating all aspects of the assigned program. Programs may include development, qualification, and sustaining and/or transfer programs. Sustaining activities will continue for the life of the program to manage the life cycle costs of the program. Essential Duties and Responsibilities Follow all environmental, health, and safety (EHS) rules. Lead your team to make the best practices habit & improve when possible. Control inventory levels through rigorous adherence to cycle counting frequency and procedures. Support and show responsibility for Hoshin Kanri Pillars deployment, development and follow-up of KPIs, updating performance boards/monitors, maintaining control Solve problems with root cause analytical tools, such as QRQC. Lead a high level APUL meeting for QRQC on a daily basis, keeping with the methodology and agenda set by corporate/training. Drive quality into all operations and all processes by leading the team to follow established quality procedures, routines, practices and the Quality Manual. Lead continuous Lean improvement initiatives. Follow layout change procedures, understand process maps, value streams and practice learnings from white belt training. Coordinate production team members to complete daily workload, engineering requests, AOGs, expedites, etc, working with quality and engineering departments as required. Lead daily meetings with floor production members. Responsible for communication of performance and QRQC board to execute level management on a weekly basis. Monitor production planning and execute plans with input on day-to-day scheduling. Perform all work distribution and assignment activities, including releasing MOs, posting MOs, etc. Train back up personnel to perform tasks as needed. Properly administer personnel/people resources: start/stop times, shift coverage, discipline, scanning into and out of MO's. Complete all transactions in M3 properly and in a timely manner. Follow production plans and control methods to ensure on-time delivery and MO's. Interface successfully with customers and government regulatory officials. Ensure compliance to Tool Control and FOD procedures. Perform employee performance appraisals per established schedule. Forecasting of parts to meet needs of the Service Center. Complete other duties and projects as assigned.
