We are looking for an experienced inspector to join our team.
Position Overview: Performs visual and dimensional inspections in all inspection departments.
Essential Job Functions
- Perform inspections of purchased parts, details, subassemblies and finished products in all inspection departments, including but not limited to: receiving inspection, in-process inspection, final inspection, repair station inspection and NDT processes.
- Inspects product coming in from suppliers for compliance with purchase order requirements. Locates part print and verifies all dimensions are within tolerances. Initiates conformance and non-conformance documentation.
- Inspects product for completion of work, verifies that part conforms dimensionally and visually to customer specifications. Verifies accuracy of part numbering, or applies marking to part per specification.
- Completes all necessary paperwork to properly record receipt or that part was approved for delivery. Records dimensional inspection results if required and documents any items required by customers in proper format. Moves product to proper staging areas.
- Uses basic measuring equipment including micrometers, calipers, go/no-go gauges, height gage, optical comparator, thread gauges, indicators, and others as required.
- Other duties as assigned.
Requirements
- Must have experience in all areas of shop floor inspection including but not limited to: receiving inspection, in-process inspection, final inspection, sheet metal inspection, repair station inspection, and NDT.
- Must complete “Common Training for DPRV Personnel” and obtain and maintain DSQR status.
- Will be required to hold product release certification from various customers.
- One year certificate from college or technical school; or six years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, procedure manuals, and customer specifications.
- Ability to read and interpret complex drawings, specifications, and handbook formulas.
- Ability to accurately use a variety of precision measuring instruments and apply concepts of basic geometry. May use some basic trigonometry.
- Understanding and working knowledge of Windows based PCs and related applications, especially MS Office.
- Knowledge of and ability to apply basic mathematical skills to the work environment
- Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions
- Ability to lift a minimum of 25 pounds.
Additional Requirements:
- Adhere to rules and regulations of a FAA Safety Sensitive Position.
- Attendance critical – must not have exceeded 20 points in the past 6 months
- Ability to pass an assessment test for mics, calipers, height gages, blueprint reading and shop math
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $17.86 - $26.20 per hour
