The Opportunity
- Within Aeroflow, the Aeroflow Fulfillment Center (AFC) is the core of Aeroflow’s order fulfillment function. As Aeroflow continues to grow and invest in its ability to deliver a world-class customer experience, its investment in distribution/warehouse function is growing as well.
- AFC takes great pride in being a critical part of delivering an exceptional customer experience, and currently fulfills over 300,000 medical supply orders per month from its primary Asheville warehouse.
- Aeroflow is in the early stages of a long-term project to modernize its supply chain operations, steadily adding new technology, automation, and other process efficiencies over the next three years.
- Aeroflow’s growth and investment in its supply chain functions will require a Logistics Manager applying their effort in several key areas…1) optimizing parcel spend and service level selection, 2) internal reporting, including dashboard creation and management, and 3) contract/relationship management and auditing
Your Primary Responsibilities
- We are currently seeking a Logistics Management Specialist, who will be responsible for:
Controlling Parcel Spend
- Creating and managing an automated process for package service level selection that balances user experience and logistics spend.
- Taking a leading role in integrating new Distribution Centers or Third Party Logistics locations with the automated service level selection discussed above.
- Working with both internal and external stakeholders to operationalize saving opportunities as necessary.
Internal Relationship Management and Reporting
- Creating and managing a dashboard for at-a-glance understanding of Aeroflow’s logistics situation, primarily targeted towards those in senior leadership roles but applicable across the organization.
- Responding to ad-hoc requests for forecasting logistics spend, either for individual products or higher level strategic questions.
- Generally understanding Aeroflow’s logistics spend and being the internal source for accurate, topical, and current information within that domain.
External Relationship/Contract Management and Auditing
- Managing the day-to-day relationship with Aeroflow’s logistics providers.
- Spearheading minor negotiations with Aeroflow’s logistics partners to address urgent needs between major logistics RFPs.
- Taking a leading role in any future logistics RFP.
- Working with Aeroflow’s logistics partners in the event that ongoing collaboration is required to operationalize savings opportunities.
- Auditing any contractual documents in the logistics space for compliance and accuracy.
- Employee has an individual responsibility for knowledge of and compliance with laws, regulations, and policies.
- Compliance is a condition of employment and is considered an element of job performance
- Maintain HIPAA/patient confidentiality
Skills for Success
- Strong analytical skills to accurately track and model logistics spend.
- A broad understanding of carrier options and processes.
- Strong verbal/written communication skills in an environment of multiple internal teams plus external vendors.
Required Qualifications
- 5 years of relevant experience in the logistics contracting space.
- Confident and effective communication skills with all levels of the organization.
- Excellent problem-solving skills and leadership qualities.
- Ability to work collaboratively with all levels of Aeroflow and vendor staff.
- Intermediate knowledge of SQL.
- Demonstrated ability to drive change within an organization without explicit decision-making power
