Job Description:
Perform a variety of visual and dimensional inspection duties in the assembly and test areas relative to the assembly and testing of space propulsion, components, subassemblies, rigs, and testing for conformance to all requirements. Verify that assembly work performed is done in conformance with all requirements and does not endanger the safety of the engine. Perform appropriate processes to disposition non-conforming parts. Functions may include investigation and corrective action and resolution of anomalies.
Essential Functions:
· Meet the continuous mental and visual demand to inspect parts, interpret drawings and specifications, follow proper sequences, read gages, complete paperwork, and resolve problems
· Interpret, explain, and apply applicable codes and regulations.
· Prepare reports, record and maintain accurate files
· Prioritize work and meet critical deadlines.
· Understand and follow instructions and apply departmental policies and procedures to perform assigned tasks.
· Read and interpret graphic instructions such as blueprints, sketches, models and other visual aides
· Use measuring tools and gages
· Use Hoists and rigging equipment
· Be responsible for working safely without posing a risk to themselves or others.
· Maintain and prepare logs, records, systems and reports as required
Qualifications:
· High School Diploma or equivalent
· 3-6 months relevant experience
· Desired 2-3 Year Technical Certification or Trade School equivalent
· A&P License desired, not required
Preferred Additional Skills:
· Refer variances to higher grade inspector or supervisor
· Refer other difficulties to supervisor, working leader or higher-grade inspector
