Your Role
As an HR Generalist, you’ll serve as a trusted partner to leadership and employees alike—bringing smart solutions to people-related matters, ensuring compliance with employment laws, and helping us evolve our practices with empathy and innovation. You’ll play a key role in enhancing our employee experience and creating a culture of trust, accountability, and growth.
What You’ll Do
- Problem Solve & Innovate: Identify opportunities for improvement in HR processes and offer creative, compliant, and people-first solutions.
- Compliance Champion: Ensure all HR practices align with state and federal employment laws, regulations, and internal policies.
- Communicate with Empathy: Serve as a compassionate, confidential resource for employee concerns, coaching, and guidance.
- Full-Cycle HR Support: Oversee onboarding, offboarding, benefits administration, and day-to-day employee relations.
- Recruitment Support: Assist with sourcing, interviewing, and hiring top talent that aligns with our values and culture.
- Training & Development: Coordinate training opportunities and support performance management and improvement plans.
- Payroll Prep & Time Management: Submit time and attendance data to our third-party payroll provider.
- Data & Reporting: Prepare HR reports and presentations for leadership and internal use.
- Engagement & Culture: Collaborate on employee engagement initiatives and HR projects like job fairs or team-building activities.
What You Bring
- Proven HR Generalist experience or equivalent HR background
- Strong working knowledge of employment law and compliance
- Exceptional problem-solving and critical thinking skills
- Excellent interpersonal and communication abilities, including active listening and conflict resolution
- Empathy and emotional intelligence to support a diverse employee base
- Comfort working in a fast-paced environment with evolving needs
- High integrity, confidentiality, and professionalism
- Bilingual (Spanish) is a plus
- Occasional travel to Mundelein, Illinois facility
Preferred Education & Experience
- Associate degree in HR, Business, or a related field
- 2–3 years of HR experience (or an equivalent combination of education and experience)
