What are the responsibilities and job description for the Repair Technician position at Aerosonic?
Founded in 1953, Aerosonic has grown to be a leader in aviation instrumentation and avionics equipment – including air data systems, standby displays, digital and mechanical standby instruments, sensors and probes. Our customers include the major manufacturers of today’s civil, military and business fixed wing and rotorcraft platforms as well as all branches of the US military forces. We are currently seeking an on-site Repair Technician for our Clearwater, FL facility.
The right candidate will perform repairs in accordance with Repair Station requirements and conformance of mechancial and electrical assemblies and subassemblies, repair or replace defective parts and/or fabrication of replacement parts and installations using blueprints, component maintenance manuals and other authorized maintenance documents.
Job Summary

- Inspection, testing and evaluating incoming parts per FAA approved data, drawing or other technical data approved by FAA Administrator
- Perform major and minor assembly, disassembly, cleaning, inspection & disposition of various types of components and accessories
- Handle and install expensive, delicate components using hand tools and specialized equipment
- Plans and performs calibration certification services
Education/Previous Experience
- High school diploma or equivalent education
- 0-2 years of work experience in a manufacturing environment
- Use of basic hand tools and measuring devices (calipers, etc.) Soldering experience is helpful
- Basic understanding of blueprints
- Basic computer and math skills
