What are the responsibilities and job description for the Survey Instrument Operator position at AES CONSULTING ENGINEERS?
AES Consulting Engineers is seeking a full-time Survey Instrument Operator. Candidates for this position assist Land Surveyors and Party Chiefs in the application of principles, methods, and techniques of civil engineering and land surveying by participating in field crew operations to provide field data for boundary surveys, topographical and construction stakeout surveys. Candidate will learn to operate total station, level, GPS and data collectors for use in collection field of survey data. Must provide clear and concise field notes including sketches and learn daily maintenance and up-keep of instruments. REQUIRED: The preferred candidate will have previous survey experience and possess a thorough understanding of standard survey procedures and instruments. Must be able to carry up to 50 lb. of equipment. Candidate must be willing to work year-round, outdoors in all types of weather. Must possess a valid Virginia Driver’s license with a satisfactory driving record. Salary negotiable.
