What are the responsibilities and job description for the Lighting Estimator position at AES Lighting Group?
Job Summary:
AES Lighting Group is seeking qualified, detail and deadline-oriented Estimators. The Estimator works with the Sales Team to prepare client proposals based on the construction documents issued. The Estimators interact daily with lighting and controls manufacturer’s representation as well as their estimating counterparts at the client level.
Qualifications:
- Must have the ability to conceptually budget, meet deadlines, handle multiple bids simultaneously, work effectively in a high-pressure environment, and be willing to go the extra mile to make sure the client deliverables are met.
- Experience with construction drawings, lighting specifications, architectural details and other related project documents
- Strong proficiency in Computer Skills (MS Office/Excel/Outlook/Blue Beam/Adobe)
- Excellent math and computation skills
- Excellent written and oral communication skills as well as time management skills
- Previous experience with construction estimating is preferred
- Bachelor’s Degree in a related field is preferred
Job Responsibilities & Expectations:
- Prepare bid package for on time delivery to the clients
- Prepare quantity take-offs and estimates on multiple projects with hard deadlines
- Develop relationships with manufacturer’s reps and our clients
- Coordinate, budget, prepare, and analyze lighting bids for large scale projects – typically commercial interiors Identify any scope gaps or discrepancies on drawings or rep quotes
- Prepare revisions to bids and leveling sheet as required by our clients
- Work with the Sales Team to solicit “final buy” quotes from the reps and final offers to clients to secure jobs
- Prepare final contract quotes and transition successfully awarded projects to the PM team
- Provide other services such as change order pricing, attending pre-bid meetings, and jobsite visits as necessary.
- Develop spreadsheets in MS Excel and prepare bid documents using our custom software. Interface with clients, owner’s reps, and both General and Electrical Contractors
- Updating daily bid lists and project trackers for internal review.

Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $65,000.00 - $110,000.00 per hour
