Description
SUMMARY
Assists in unloading delivery trucks and compares received products to packing lists to ensure that deliveries are complete. Tracks deliveries and troubleshoots order issues with suppliers. Processes return of damaged products to vendors and works with purchasing department to update records. Receives, documents, and enters information for incoming repairs into ERP system. Performs various inventory tasks including cycle counts, stocking, and material handling.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned.
- Receives products from vendor deliveries.
- Unloads trucks at the loading dock.
- Performs visual inspection of packaging prior to acceptance in order to ensure no damage has occurred.
- Checks to verify information against bills of lading, invoices, packing slips, orders or other records and ensure that the products in each delivery match the packing list or other documentation.
- Verifies items received by inspecting shipping condition of items, type and comparing count/measure of items to customer purchase order and packing list, noting any discrepancies.
- Enters information received and the quality status by recording identifying information in ERP system.
- Updates the product inventory as products are received and added to our inventory.
- Packages products for return to vendors and fills out any RMA paperwork necessary prior to the shipment being picked up.
- Replaces damaged items and shortages or obtains credit by informing shipper and transporter of damage or shortage, returns damaged items, requests new item(s) or credit for shortages through purchasing. Notifies manager of damage and complete carrier claim paperwork. Submits paperwork to Purchasing Department.
- Performs cycle counts regularly to ensure high-levels of inventory accuracy.
- Stocks parts and materials in parts rooms, warehouses, and other inventory locations.
- Operates lift trucks or hand trucks to convey, move or hoist materials to proper departments or areas.
- Maintains the work area and equipment in a clean and orderly condition and follows prescribed safety regulations.
- Performs other duties as directed by leadership.

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE
- High school diploma or equivalent combination of education, training and/or work experience required.
- Previous warehouse, shipping, receiving or other similar experience helpful.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILL AND ABILITY
- Must have strong computer skills.
- General safety awareness of OSHA safety rules for working in a warehouse environment.
- Demonstrated ability to prepare routine administrative paperwork.
- Ability to utilize and follow instructions and pre-established guidelines, including procedures and processes.
- Ability to sort, check, count and verify numbers.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
