Together, we canmake a meaningful impact. About the Role The Quality Control Managercoordinates and manages the activities of inline quality control validation(warranty, supplier, customer). Manages and mentors quality controlsupervisors, technologists and technicians as they perform quality validationchecks and manufacturing line process audits. Manages team across multipleshifts and coordinates activities between operations and QC. Controlsdepartmental costs, scrap, purchased supplies, and quality of products whilesupporting uptime targets.What You Will Do Coordinates the development andplanning of new programs and events. Responsible for goals and objectives asthey pertain to quality, cost, delivery, and safety. Responsible for ensuringquality standards are obtained in support of production and manufacturingtargets.Maintains a positive employee relations environment.Establishes andmonitors quality performance to cost budgets. Implements proper measures tocontinually reduce costs. Assists the production and engineering departmentswith investigations and resolutions of chronic or severe in-plant qualityproblems. Participate in site material disposition and review of discrepantmaterials (DRB, NCR, MRB). Establishes and monitors quality performance withinthe department. Uses good problem-solving techniques to identify root cause.Implements actions to eliminate further occurrences. Administers shop floormanagement systems to ensure compliance and increase customer satisfaction.Monitors safety performance daily and facilitates implementation of action toimprove safety performance. Proactive in identifying and addressing safetyconcerns before an accident occurs. Plans for new projects and processes basedupon information from engineering and management that affects assigned area ofresponsibility. Contacts other workgroups within the company to obtain theirservices and support for determining content and timing of these newprocesses.Understands and follows all standards of IATF16949 and VDA 6.3quality standards.Understands and follows all standards of ISO14001environmental standards.Supervises and provides leadership, coaching,guidance, training and staff development; interviews and selects unitemployees; plans and evaluates employee performance; recommends meritincreases, transfers and promotions; counsels and disciplines employees asnecessary; recommends termination when appropriate; and monitors time andattendance of subordinates. As necessary, performs other related duties ofwhich the above are representative. Performs all other related assignments(including special projects) as required in a professional and cooperativemanner. Qualifications What You NeedBachelors degree in a related Engineering discipline from anaccredited institution. Minimum 5 years of directly related professional-levelEngineering or managerial experience Minimum of 2 years in an engineering ormanager role exhibiting leadership skills Advanced knowledge of MicrosoftOffice and other PC applicationsIn-depth understanding of lithium batterymanufacturing, product knowledge, battery manufacturing processes andequipment, and related information systems. Preferred experience in NPW, APW,TPS, or similar lean manufacturing production system training andexecution.Six Sigma and VDA Core tools preferred.Excellent verbal and writtencommunication skills; interpersonal skills; report writing skills,presentation abilities, and motivational skills.Demonstrated ability to workcross-functionally with all staff levels and disciplines is a must. Able towork cross-functionally with staff in Operations, Production, Engineering,Quality, Human Resources, etc.Formal problem-solving experience on complexissues. (CAPA, 8D, 5Why)Outstanding planning, scheduling, and organizationaland demonstrated leadership skills. TravelOccasional domestic andinternational travel required.
