AESC is looking to add a Senior Facilities Maintenance Manager to our team in Florence, SC.
AESC is a global leader in the development and manufacturing of high-performance batteries for zero-emission electric vehicles and energy storage systems. AESC's Tennessee gigafactory in Smyrna, which has been operational since 2012, produces batteries for Nissan. The Kentucky gigafactory in Bowling Green will supply Mercedes-Benz with high-performance battery cell modules. The South Carolina gigafactory in Florence will supply technology-leading battery cells for new electric models produced in BMW Group's Spartanburg plant. About The Role
The Senior Facilities Manager holds strategic oversight of all facility maintenance operations, ensuring the safe, efficient, and reliable performance of the entire plant. This high-level leadership role drives operational excellence by setting vision and strategy for maintenance systems, optimizing processes, and ensuring adherence to corporate standards. The Senior Facilities Manager collaborates with executive leadership to shape Facilities policies, manage large-scale capital projects, and ensure facility readiness for current and future business needs. This position is a key contributor to long-term operational strategy and sustainability while fostering a culture of continuous improvement and innovation.

What You Will Do
- Define and execute strategic initiatives for maintenance and facility operations, aligning with overall business goals and future growth.
- Oversee the development and implementation of advanced maintenance methodologies within the facilities team to improve equipment uptime, efficiency, and cost control.
- Lead the design and execution of capital investment projects, ensuring compliance with quality, safety, and environmental standards.
- Partner with senior leadership to establish and monitor long-term maintenance strategies and budgets to support corporate objectives.
- Drive organizational excellence through the creation of standardized KPI metrics and ensure accountability at all organizational levels.
- Build and lead high-performing cross-functional teams, providing clear vision, mentorship, and strategic guidance.
- Evaluate and implement new technologies to enhance operational efficiency and scalability.
- Direct the planning and execution of large-scale plant modifications, expansions, and new facility projects.
- Establish and enforce rigorous safety protocols, proactively addressing risks and ensuring full regulatory compliance.
- Serve as the primary liaison for executive leadership, providing regular reporting on facility performance and strategic initiatives.
- Foster relationships with external vendors and contractors, negotiating service agreements to align with organizational priorities and cost efficiency.
- Lead and inspire managers, engineers, and supervisors, ensuring a unified approach to achieving strategic objectives.
- Set organizational goals, define performance metrics, and provide continuous coaching to develop future leaders.

What You Need
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Industrial Technology, or a related technical field preferred.
- Equivalent experience may be considered for exceptional candidates with demonstrated expertise in maintenance leadership and greenfield startups.
- Minimum 15 years of progressive leadership experience in maintenance or facilities management within a high-volume manufacturing environment.
- Proven track record of managing multi-million-dollar capital projects and large-scale operational improvements.
- Significant experience leading multi-disciplinary teams and managing cross-cultural and technical boundaries.
- Demonstrated success in driving operational efficiencies and implementing innovative technologies.
- Visionary leadership with a strategic mindset and a track record of operational excellence.
- Advanced proficiency in facility systems, including mechanical, electrical, and automation technologies.
- Exceptional communication and negotiation skills to influence at all levels of the organization.
- Ability to manage complex projects and competing priorities while maintaining high-quality outcomes.
- Understands and follows all standards of IATF16949 and VDA 6.3 quality standards. (Training and awareness will be provided for those who are not familiar with these standards)
