POSITION SUMMARY: The Quality Specialist is responsible for providing assistance to the Group Quality Manager with the implementation and maintenance of the Quality Management System (QMS). This includes compliance activities related to the ISO and IATF standards and all customer specific requirements. The Quality Specialist works with all functional teams and process owners to ensure system implementation within the QMS, including document control management for controlled documentation.
RESPONSIBILITIES/DUTIES:
- Coordinate and manage all internal ISO, IATF, and customer audits including any resulting corrective actions and evidence for closure of non-conformances.
- Facilitate resulting corrective action meetings and serve as a team leader for closure of all open issues resulting from all audits.
- Act as an auditor guide for all external ISO, IATF, and customer audits.
- Monitor and measure the effectiveness of the internal audit program including all related continual improvement actions.
- Assist Group Quality Manager in the coordination, documentation, and communication of all corrective actions resulting from internal and external audits.
- Manage and continually improve the company’s document control process
- Manage and implement process updates to IATF 16949, ISO 9001, ISO14001 and Customer Specific requirements.
- Manage the effective implementation and maintenance of the Quality Management System (QMS) with process owners and management team, inclusive of improvement opportunities.
- Operate as a change agent through identification and facilitation of process improvement opportunities driving cultural change throughout the organization.
- Provide necessary training activities as required.
- Process, maintain and publish updates to the company procedures, forms, instructions and process documentation as required, including the coordination of all approvals.
- Define and structure Organization’s record retention policy.
- Provide Quality awareness training for new employees upon notification from the Plant Manager or Human Resource Manager
- Assist department heads in the review and maintenance of all documented company policies and procedures.
- Assist Group Quality Manager in implementation of QMS / EMS systems at other SA Automotive and SA Engineering locations.
- Assist with process approach implementation throughout the organization using process mapping skills, advanced data analysis methods, and facilitation techniques.
Essential Functional Competency:
- IATF Lead Auditor Certification
- VDA 6.3 Auditor certification or relevant experience
- Working knowledge of ISO 14001
- Working knowledge of Customer Specific Requirements
- Working knowledge of document control and record retention methodologies
Required Education, Experience & Training
- Associated Degree or better with a minimum of 3 years in automotive quality.
- Working knowledge of quality management systems
- Strong Communication skills- shop floor though management
- Team leadership to facilitate cross functional problem solving teams
- Self-motivated and strong organizational skills
- Process mapping and data analytics skills are preferred
- Microsoft office skills
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS: Must be able to lift and move objects up to 20 pounds. Must be able to hear, talk, walk, stand, bend and sit, use hands to finger, handle, or touch office equipment an office and production environment. Ability to travel between plant locations as required.
