Job Summary:
We are seeking a highly experienced Industrial sewer for a new Firefighter Gear Repair center located in Laurinburg NC. Work for a small but growing family-owned business. Its Important that you be a motivated, high energy, positive person who is willing to be trained in several aspects of the business and pitch in when needed in areas besides sewing. Demonstration of sewing ability will be required before hiring.
Full Time/Part Time position starting at $16 per hour. Weekly pay available. Paid time off after first year of employment available. Flexible hours available. Shifts are Monday through Friday with occasional overtime opportunities available.
New industrial equipment and new state of the art facility will be your working environment.
Duties:
- Primary duty is sew and repair firefighting gear
Alternate duties
- Assist in washing and inspecting firefighting gear
- Intake processing of firefighting gear
- Shipping finished products
Qualifications:
- Must have a high school diploma or equivalent.
- Must have 2-4 years experience in sewing heavy material.
- Must have experience using industrial sewing machines.
- Must provide attention to detail.
- Must be responsible, willing to learn, able to adhere to deadlines & be dependable.
- Must be willing to submit to drug testing.
Physical Requirements
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to:
- Be able to work an 10-hour shift sitting, standing, bending, and lifting.
- Be able to understand and follow verbal and written directions.
- Be able to lift up to 30 pounds.
- Be able to, with or without correct close vision, ability to adjust focus, and be able to distinguish between different colors.
