Overview

We are currently seeking a dedicated and hardworking Landscape Laborer to join our team. This role involves maintaining and enhancing outdoor spaces for both residential and commercial properties, with opportunities for career growth, including advancement to Lead Foreman. Position Details

• Season: April to Early December (weather-dependent)
• Starting Rate: $20-$25 per hour (based on experience)
• Availability: 6 days a week from 7 AM - 5 PM (start and end times vary each day)
• Type: Full-time (30-40 hours per week)
• DOT Medical exam required

Responsibilities

• Perform landscape maintenance tasks including mowing, edging, and trimming
• Plant and maintain flowers, shrubs, and trees
• Operate hand tools and power equipment
• Assist with landscape installations and cleanups
• Deliver materials to job sites as needed

Qualifications

• Experience: Previous experience in landscape maintenance or a related field is preferred. Entry-level candidates with a strong willingness to learn are also encouraged to apply.
• Knowledge: Familiarity with tree care practices, including trimming and pruning techniques, is an asset. Understanding of plant health and maintenance will be beneficial.
• Skills: Proficient with hand tools and power equipment commonly used in landscaping (e.g., commercial mowers, weed whackers, blowers). Basic mechanical knowledge for equipment maintenance and troubleshooting is advantageous.
• Teamwork: Ability to work independently and as part of a collaborative team, contributing to a positive work environment.
• Detail-Oriented: Strong attention to detail with the ability to follow instructions accurately, ensuring high-quality results.
• Physical Stamina: Must possess the physical ability to perform labor-intensive tasks, including lifting, bending, kneeling, and standing for extended periods, as well as working in varying weather conditions.
• Licensing: Valid driver's license with a clean driving record; experience driving a truck and trailer is a plus.
• Communication: Good interpersonal skills to effectively interact with team members and clients, fostering a courteous and professional atmosphere.
• Adaptability: Willingness to learn new skills and take on a variety of tasks as needed, demonstrating flexibility in job assignments.

Responsibilities

• Landscape Maintenance:
• Perform regular lawn care tasks such as mowing, edging, and trimming to ensure well-maintained outdoor spaces.
• Conduct seasonal cleanups, including leaf removal, debris clearing, and garden bed maintenance.
• Planting and Care:
• Plant and care for flowers, shrubs, and trees, adhering to proper planting techniques for optimal growth.
• Prune trees and shrubs to promote healthy growth, enhancing the overall aesthetic of landscapes.
• Equipment Operation:
• Safely operate hand tools and power equipment, including commercial mowers, weed whackers, and blowers to complete assigned tasks efficiently.
• Conduct routine maintenance and basic repairs on equipment to ensure optimal functionality.
• Landscape Installation Assistance:
• Assist with the installation of landscaping features, including planting beds, retaining walls, patios, and walkways, following project specifications.
• Help load and unload materials at job sites, ensuring timely and efficient deliveries.
• Material Handling:
• Rake, shovel, and distribute mulch, stones, and loam to enhance garden beds and outdoor areas.
• Utilize wheelbarrows for loading and unloading materials, maintaining a clean and organized worksite.
• Client Interaction:
• Communicate effectively with team members and clients to ensure project needs are met and any concerns are addressed promptly.
• Represent Aesthetic Lawn Care professionally, fostering positive client relationships.
• Team Collaboration:
• Work with team members to achieve daily goals and ensure high-quality workmanship on all projects.
• Participate in on-the-job training and team meetings to continuously improve skills and knowledge.
• Health and Safety:
• Follow safety protocols and best practices to maintain a safe working environment for yourself and fellow employees.
• Be prepared to report any hazards or unsafe conditions to supervisors promptly.

Job Types: Full-time, Part-time

Pay: $20.00 - $25.00 per hour

Expected hours: 30 – 40 per week
