Airframe systems expert needed to join our team at AEVEX Aerospace! As a key member of our design engineering department, you will be responsible for the design and development of aircraft structural modifications using 3D CAD software. Your primary focus will be on creating preliminary design layouts, detailed models, and drawings for aircraft modifications and repairs.
Key Responsibilities:
- Create designs for aircraft structural modifications using Catia design software
- Develop detailed models and drawings for aircraft modifications and repairs
- Collaborate with senior design engineers and other designers/draftsmen to complete engineering drawing packages
- Evaluate structural load paths and reactions in design development
- Conduct tolerance and sizing studies to optimize designs
- Establish technical requirements with vendors and component suppliers
- Communicate with stress analysts throughout structural substantiation efforts
- Support occasional design reviews with MS PowerPoint slide development
