This is a hybrid role and is on a 9/80 Alternative Work Schedule which will consist of working 80 hours in 9 days, with every other Friday off.
Job Overview:
This position will be responsible for overseeing the timing aspects of Assured PNT systems. This position is crucial in designing, analyzing, sourcing, and verifying timing constraints to meet stringent requirements in various applications such as time keeping, clock discipline, clock integration, and other enhancements over the current and future Assured PNT products.
Essential Functions
- Expertise in PNT to understand and evaluate systems engineering activities. Experience designing timing modules for military and aerospace applications.
- Develop timing architectures for advanced and future clocks.
- Lead the timing analysis and design efforts throughout the development lifecycle.
- Perform comprehensive mobile/dynamic timing analysis using industry-standard equipment and tools to validate timing scenarios.
- Perform comparison and trade-off studies on existing oscillators with stress on holdover accuracy.
- Develop algorithms and methods advance the state of the art in clock data analysis and their applications.
- Drives planning, development, implementation and maintenance of software, system, and technologies of timing in the Assured PNT products.
- Assess which new technologies are appropriate for AEVEX's use, ensuring technologies and platforms securely scale to support strategic growth objectives of the organization based on current and target performance goals and objectives.
- Ability to lead and collaborate in the development effort while also providing innovative and creative solutions.
- Works closely with the customers and partners to understand the state of the possible and set requirements based on the Voice of the Customer (VOC).

Qualifications and Competencies
- Knowledge of the principles and development support for a wide range of oscillators, including atomic clocks, quartz clocks (TCXO), rubidium, micro-rubidium, low SWaP atomic frequency sources, OCXO, MEMS, etc.
- Knowledge of precision and holdover timing algorithms.
- Knowledge of advanced oscillator disciplining procedures and techniques using multi-GNSS signals and clock steering.
- Knowledge of the principals of maintaining frequency-time scale for prolonged GNSS outages.
- Hands-on tool experience for checking frequency, stability testing, and characterize clock performance for mobile and dynamic platforms.
- Managing lab environments, hardware test setup and testing for timescales.
- Strong scripting skills.
- Strategic thinker with a strong aptitude for problem-solving.
- Effective verbal and written communication skills.
- Experience providing technical leadership, mentoring and customer support.
- Knowledge of the principals of TOA/TDOA is a plus.
- Knowledge of external timing sources, such as LEO signals to discipline oscillators is a plus.
Education / Certifications
- Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Control, Physics, Computer Engineering, or related field.
- Advanced degree (Master's or Ph.D.) preferred.
Experience
- 5 years of circuity and system design for timing solutions.
- Experience with timing as it relates to position and navigation.
- Experience in time-frequency analysis, timing closure, and clock distribution design. Experience in aerospace or defense industry is preferred.

Salary : $131,300 - $158,600
