The Test Engineer 2 at AEVEX is responsible for direct support to Special Operations Forces Acquisition Technology & Logistics (SOF AT&L), Program Executive Officer for Tactical Information Systems (PEOTIS) and will serve as a technical expert, test planner, and coordinator for existing / emerging Small Unmanned Systems (Group 1 & 2 UAS and Unmanned Ground Systems).
Essential Functions
- Responsible for developmental testing, operational testing support, and will collaborate / coordinate across functional test teams comprised of planners, engineers, cyber security, system operators, and range personnel.
- Develop relevant program documents necessary to support developmental and operational testing, to include but not limited to drafting requirements, test plans, test readiness review documentation, quick-look reports, and final test reports.
- Develop acquisition documentation to include Simplified Acquisition Management Plan Addendums, requirements traceability matrices, and fielding and deployment release packages.
- Advise on unmanned system technology, support / participate in Program of Record (PoR) and industry meetings, test readiness reviews, provide input for acquisition documentation, briefings, and staffing functions as required by PoR government leadership.
- Receive UAS operator training and conduct test operations on various UAS platforms.
- Serve as alternate action officer for Unmanned Aerial Systems Exceptions to Policy (ETP) across the SOCOM Enterprise to include lead coordinator for all prerequisites and primary interface to Senior leaders at SOCOM AT&L and OSD-level authorities in support of SOCOM ETP requests to include necessary artifacts, vulnerability assessments, and use-case data to support decision making processes.
