Job Description
The Stress Engineer 1 at AEVEX Aerospace is engaged in the analysis of aircraft structural and system modifications using traditional hand calculations and software such as Excel and MathCad. More complex analysis involves more advanced analysis, using FEMAP / NASTRAN finite element analysis software. Assignments are often conducted under the guidance of experienced aerospace structural engineers.
Essential Functions
- Provides stress analysis of composite and sheet metal structures using classical hand calculations and Finite Element Analysis.
- Creates structural substantiation analysis reports & other engineering documents.
- Works closely with Design & Liaison Engineers, Airframe Mechanics, & Shop Floor Personnel, when necessary.
- Reviews engineering drawings.
- Coordinates with other stress analysts for report completion.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
- Regular and reliable attendance on a full time basis [or in accordance with posted schedule].
- Responsible for exhibiting professional behavior with both internal and external business associates that reflects positively on the company and is consistent with the company's policies and practices.
- Embodies AEVEX's cultural values and aligns daily actions with department goals and company culture. Qualifications and Competencies.
- Familiarity with static analysis principles & methodology.
- Some experience with typical aircraft metals (MMPDS), hardware (MS, NAS, AN, bolts, rivets, screws, nuts, bushings, etc.), composites, honeycomb panels, machined parts and formed sheet metal.
- Ability to read and interpret technical data, repair drawings and / or engineering drawings.
- Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.
- Some understanding of aircraft repair procedures.
- Excellent attention to detail and creative problem-solving skills.
- Proficient in of MS Office Suite and strong computer skills for report writing and analysis preparation.

Security Clearance
AEVEX provides a reasonable range of compensation. Actual compensation is influenced by an array of factors including, but not limited to, skill set, level of experience, and specific location. The range of starting pay for this position is for the listed location only.
Salary Range
81,000—$87,000 USD
