Brief Description:
We are seeking a dynamic Business Application Project Manager to oversee and manage multiple business applications critical to our operations. The ideal candidate will "own" these systems, becoming the in-house expert and driving the alignment of technology solutions with business needs. This role requires a blend of technical acumen, project management skills, and a passion for enabling business success through efficient and effective application usage. Experience in managing projects related to mergers and acquisitions (M&A) or application integrations during M&A is highly desirable.
Job Responsibilities:
Application Ownership:
- Serve as the subject matter expert (SME) for assigned business applications, maintaining deep knowledge of functionality, configuration, and business impact.
- Manage application lifecycle, including implementation, updates, upgrades, and decommissioning.
- Act as the liaison between business stakeholders, technical teams, and external vendors.
Project Management:
- Lead the implementation, enhancement, and upgrades of business applications.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to define project scope, objectives, deliverables, and timelines.
- Manage risks, issues, and dependencies to ensure successful project outcomes.
M&A Projects (Preferred):
- Collaborate on integration planning and execution for applications impacted by mergers and acquisitions
- Identify and eliminate application redundancies to streamline systems and ensure smooth data and process integration.
Stakeholder Collaboration:
- Partner with business leaders to identify requirements and translate them into application solutions.
- Train and support end-users to maximize adoption and efficiency of the applications.
- Regularly communicate project status, application updates, and opportunities for improvement.
System Maintenance and Improvement:
- Monitor application performance, troubleshoot issues, and coordinate resolution with vendors or internal teams.
- Continuously assess and recommend system enhancements to optimize business processes.
- Ensure data integrity, security, and compliance across all managed applications.
Documentation and Reporting:
- Create and maintain comprehensive documentation for systems, processes, and workflows.
- Generate reports to track application performance, usage, and alignment with business goals.
Education/Credentials:
- Bachelor's degree in business administration, Information Systems, Computer Science, or related experience.
- 3 years of experience in project management, business applications support, or related roles in a corporate environment.
- Strong knowledge of enterprise business applications (e.g., Microsoft SharePoint, Microsoft Teams or similar).
- Proven experience managing multiple projects simultaneously.
- Excellent problem-solving, analytical, and communication skills.
Preferred Skills:
- Project management certification (e.g., PMP, PRINCE2, or Agile certifications) or related experience.
- Experience with the following specific applications/platforms: Microsoft SharePoint, Microsoft Teams, Clickup.
- Technical understanding of system integrations, APIs, and databases.
- Experience with running Merger & Acquisition type projects is a plus but not required.
