The Quality Engineer role is part of the quality organization and instrumental in all aspects of understanding and meeting the expectations of the customer.
The Quality Engineer role will be vital in establishing and maintaining internal processes, documenting / training of those processes, and promoting continuous improvement. The Quality Engineer will work with all levels within the organization to promote standardization and meeting the technical / quality requirements.
Activities and responsibilities of the Quality Engineer include :
- Documentation development and maintenance
- PPAP and other APQP Activities
- Intercompany Audits (internal)
- Drawing / Specification Analysis
- Quality Incidents investigations (8D, FMEA, 5-Why, etc)
- Supplier Corrective Action Requests (SCAR) investigations
- Continuous Improvement Initiatives (internally and externally)
- Part inspections (various hand gauges and instrumentation)
- Management of site-specific calibrations and calibration system
- Other duties as assigned to meet ever changing customer needs
