**Position Summary:**
The Loan Officer will be responsible for assessing and originating residential mortgage loans for clients while working closely with our network of real estate agents, financial advisors, and clients to ensure a smooth, transparent, and rewarding loan process. This role requires strong communication, an understanding of various loan products, and a commitment to customer service.
**Key Responsibilities:**
1. **Client Consultation and Loan Origination:**
- Conduct consultations to understand clients' financial goals and recommend suitable loan products.
- Analyze applicants’ financial status, credit, and property evaluations to determine loan feasibility.
- Guide clients through the loan application process, answering questions and providing information on loan options, terms, and conditions.
2. **Loan Processing and Management:**
- Work closely with underwriters, processors, and other team members to manage loan documentation and ensure timely closings.
- Ensure all loans comply with federal and state regulations as well as company policies.
- Regularly update clients on the status of their applications, addressing any concerns promptly.
3. **Relationship Building and Networking:**
- Establish and maintain relationships with clients, real estate professionals, and financial advisors.
- Attend networking events and represent the brokerage in the community to build referral networks.
- Provide ongoing education to clients on the benefits of home ownership and wealth-building strategies.
4. **Continuous Education and Compliance:**
- Stay up-to-date with changes in mortgage regulations, lending practices, and Sacramento real estate market trends.
- Complete any required training to stay compliant with the National Mortgage Licensing System (NMLS) standards.
**Qualifications:**
- Proven experience in mortgage loan origination, preferably within a brokerage environment.
- Active NMLS license.
- Strong knowledge of mortgage loan products and lending regulations.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills with a customer-focused approach.
- Ability to manage multiple loans and deadlines effectively.
- Proficiency in loan origination software and Microsoft Office Suite.
