The Role :
Our Fleet Managers are masters in the art of Driver Optimization and Retention. They will optimize loads, ensure on time performance, driver home time and vehicle maintenance intervals. Communicating clearly with team members and drivers is second nature to the best Fleet Managers. Each FM's fleet is like your own small business.

Through optimal planning & communications with your assigned drivers - Service excellence is what you'll become known for. The FM is an expert at managing driver expectations and customer needs. Having a positive relationship with both your drivers and our non driving team members is what makes this all happen.
Specific Tasks :
- Reinforce to your team of drivers the importance of safety first, obeying all rules and regulations for the protection of the public on the nation’s highways
- Properly plan & analyze each load with the individual driver, and ensure that the pick-up and delivery schedule of each load is such that it can be completed without the driver having to exceed posted speed limits and can be achieved within those drivers’ current hours of service limits and that the driver understands where his ten hour breaks need to occur during the trip as well as fuel stops
- Geographic routing of equipment / drivers to shipper and customer destinations, using the computerized routing system & sent to trucks on each load via the AFC Go App or Samsars
- Monitoring of driver time-off periods, and compliance with company standards, and management of driver time-off periods to assure that excessive non-revenue days do not occur
- Monitoring of mileage performance by driver / truck to assure that company weekly mileage goals of at least 2500 miles per week are achieved on each driver
- Conduct driver counseling regarding infractions of rules, and procedures as necessary
