Phlebotomist - Phlebotomists are medical professionals who work in the clinic’s medium complexity lab and obtains blood samples from patients, then prepares specimens for analysis and performs various screening tests.They are responsible for efficiently and accurately performing blood draws and preparing them for testing.
Education and/or Experience Requirements:
- 1 year experience as Phlebotomist, required
- A high school diploma or GED, required
- Graduates of a Phlebotomy program or equivalent vocational-technical school, required
- Washington State Medical Assistant-Phlebotomist certification, required
- Able and willing to obtain Medical Assistant Certification (training provided)
- Experience in a medical office setting, 1 years preferred. Urgent care is a plus.

Pay and Benefits:
- $18-21 per hour, depending on years of experience as a Phlebotomist

Schedules: Full-time, ~36 hrs/week. Shifts are set schedules; looking to fulfill the back half of the week schedule of Wednesday-Saturday
- Back half of week team = Wed 1:00p - 7p, Thurs-Fri 8a - 7p, Sat 9a - 6p
Location: Our new Camas/Vancouver Clinic (98684)
In addition to regularly scheduled shifts, we require sign-up for one on-call shift a month. Reliable transportation is a must.
Essential Functions/Major Responsibilities: The duties will be performed in accordance with policy and procedure, the standard of care, and in accordance with state certification. The essential duties and responsibilities include, but are not limited to, the following:
- Prepares patients before drawing blood, determining the right venipuncture method based on patient age, health, etc.
- Obtains blood specimens and collects nonblood specimens such as urine, sputum, and throat swabs for laboratory testing.
- Performs, collects, and labels CLIA-waved lab tests and reports results.
- Processes specimens to prepare them for laboratory testing. Prepares specimens for reference laboratory dispatch and testing.
- Performs both DOT and non-DOT urine drug and alcohol tests.
- Contributes to the general laboratory functions and facility needs.
- Attends regular department staff meetings and offsite training as requested by Clinic Manager and approved by Operations.
- Maintains quality results by following department procedures and testing schedule, recording results in the quality-control log, and identifying and reporting needed changes.
