Job Summary
We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Medical Assistant to join our team at a Level II Trauma Center. The ideal candidate will provide essential medical administrative support and patient service in a fast-paced hospital environment. This role involves working closely with healthcare professionals to ensure the highest quality of care for our patients, particularly in inpatient settings and geriatrics.
Responsibilities
- Assist healthcare providers with patient examinations and procedures.
- Perform administrative tasks including scheduling appointments, managing patient records, and handling medical coding.
- Maintain accurate documentation of patient information and medical histories.
- Prepare and administer medications as directed by physicians.
- Ensure compliance with hospital policies and procedures, particularly in relation to patient safety and confidentiality.
- Support the healthcare team in delivering exceptional patient service and care.
- Demonstrate knowledge of anatomy to assist in clinical tasks effectively.
- Participate in ongoing training and professional development opportunities.
Qualifications
- Previous experience as a Medical Assistant or in a similar role is preferred.
- Strong understanding of medical administrative support systems used within hospitals.
- Familiarity with coding practices relevant to medical billing and insurance claims.
- Knowledge of anatomy and experience working with geriatric patients is highly desirable.
- Ability to work collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team in an inpatient hospital setting.
- Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, to interact effectively with patients and staff.
- Strong organizational skills with attention to detail to manage multiple tasks efficiently.
