Job Overview

Duties
- Perform X-ray examinations on patients, ensuring high-quality images for diagnostic purposes.
- Collaborate with physicians and healthcare professionals to determine appropriate imaging techniques.
- Maintain accurate patient records and documentation of imaging procedures.
- Ensure compliance with safety protocols and radiation protection standards.
- Operate CT scanners as needed for advanced imaging requirements.
- Assist in the preparation of patients for nuclear medicine scans when necessary.
- Provide clear instructions to patients regarding the imaging process to alleviate anxiety.
- Maintain and troubleshoot imaging equipment to ensure optimal functionality.
- Stay updated on advancements in radiologic technology and emergency medicine practices.
Requirements
- Certification as an X-ray Technician or Radiologic Technologist from an accredited program.
- Strong knowledge of anatomy, physiology, and medical terminology related to imaging.
- Experience working in urgent care or trauma environments preferred.
- Familiarity with CT scanning procedures is a plus.
- Ability to work effectively in high-pressure situations typical of emergency medicine settings.
- Excellent communication skills for interacting with patients and medical staff.
- Attention to detail and commitment to maintaining patient safety during procedures.
- Current CPR certification is required.
