Production Leadman – Metal Fabrication
Job Summary:
We are seeking a skilled and experienced Production Leadman to oversee and coordinate the daily operations of our metal fabrication department. The ideal candidate will ensure production schedules are met, quality standards are upheld, and safety protocols are strictly followed, all while motivating and guiding the production team to achieve optimal performance.
Key Responsibilities:
- Supervise and coordinate production activities, ensuring adherence to schedules and production targets.
- Assign tasks to team members and monitor progress to maintain workflow efficiency.
- Operate and oversee the use of fabrication equipment such as CNC machines, press brakes, welding equipment, and other tools.
- Perform quality checks on products to ensure they meet company and customer specifications.
- Train and mentor team members on safe and efficient production processes.
- Identify and troubleshoot issues in the production process, implementing corrective actions as needed.
- Monitor inventory levels of raw materials and tools, coordinating with purchasing to avoid shortages.
- Enforce compliance with all safety regulations, ensuring a safe working environment.
- Collaborate with other departments (e.g., engineering, quality assurance) to resolve production challenges.
Qualifications and Skills:
- Proven experience in metal fabrication or a related industry, with supervisory or lead experience preferred.
- Proficient in operating and maintaining metal fabrication equipment (e.g., CNC machines, welding tools).
- Strong understanding of blueprint reading, welding techniques, and fabrication processes.
- Knowledge of safety standards and procedures in a manufacturing environment.
- Excellent problem-solving and organizational skills.
- Strong leadership and communication abilities to motivate and guide a team.
- Ability to multitask and prioritize tasks in a fast-paced environment.
Education and Experience:
- High school diploma or GED required; technical/vocational training in metal fabrication or related field is a plus.
- Minimum of 3 years of experience in metal fabrication, with at least 3 years in a leadership role.
Physical Requirements:
- Ability to stand, walk, and work in a manufacturing environment for extended periods.
- Capability to lift and move materials weighing up to 35 pounds.
- Comfortable working in varying environmental conditions, such as heat or noise.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $19.00 - $29.00 per hour
