Job Description:

We are seeking a highly experienced Senior Project Manager to join our dynamic team in the New York Tri-State Area. The ideal candidate will have a minimum of 10 years of experience in project management, with a deep understanding of the contract furniture industry. The Senior Project Manager will play a pivotal role in overseeing complex projects from inception to completion, ensuring that our clients receive exceptional service and that all project goals are met on time and within budget.


The ideal candidate will be efficient in managing both client relationships and internal teams while overseeing the entire project lifecycle. Proficiency with Hedberg software is a plus, but not required.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Project Leadership: Lead multiple high-value projects, coordinating with designers, architects, contractors, and suppliers to ensure smooth execution and timely delivery of all phases of furniture installation and specification.
  • Client Relationship Management: Serve as the primary point of contact for clients, ensuring that their needs are understood and addressed, and maintaining strong relationships throughout the project lifecycle.
  • Budget & Schedule Management: Oversee project budgets, monitor costs, manage timelines, and identify potential risks. Develop contingency plans to ensure projects are delivered on schedule and within financial parameters.
  • Team Coordination: Manage and mentor a team of project managers and other staff, providing guidance and support to ensure seamless execution and quality control.
  • Procurement & Logistics: Oversee procurement of contract furniture, ensuring that all orders are placed on time and in line with project specifications. Coordinate with vendors and logistics teams for timely delivery and installation.
  • Documentation & Reporting: Maintain up-to-date project documentation, including status reports, budgets, timelines, and meeting minutes. Ensure compliance with all contractual agreements and legal requirements.
  • Quality Assurance: Conduct site inspections to ensure that installations meet quality standards and the specifications outlined in the project agreement.


Qualifications:

  • Minimum of 10 years of project management experience, with a focus on the contract furniture industry.
  • Proven track record of managing large-scale furniture projects for commercial clients, including corporate, healthcare, and hospitality spaces.
  • Expertise in managing client relationships and coordinating multidisciplinary teams to deliver complex projects on time and within budget.
  • Strong understanding of contract furniture specifications, procurement, and installation processes.
  • Proficiency with Hedberg software is a significant advantage.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to manage client expectations and lead cross-functional teams.
  • Strong organizational skills, with the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously and prioritize tasks effectively.
  • Ability to solve problems and troubleshoot challenges that arise during the project lifecycle.
  • Knowledge of industry standards, regulations, and best practices in furniture procurement and installation.


Education:

Bachelor’s degree in Business, Project Management, Interior Design, Architecture, or related field preferred.

PMP or similar project management certification a plus.
