Summary Description & Primary Role

At Affiance Financial, we are dedicated to improving lives through comprehensive financial planning. We are seeking an Associate Financial Planner who is passionate about building long-term client relationships. This role is ideal for a self-motivated professional who takes pride in having high follow-through, and delivering on client and colleague expectations.


As a key member of our team, the Associate Financial Planner will work closely with the business

development, client support, and investments and trading teams to serve both existing and new clients.

Responsibilities include preparing for financial planning meetings, supporting client discussions, and

documenting key decisions and next steps. Additionally, this role involves ongoing client communication,

researching and implementing tailored financial solutions, and contributing to the overall success of the firm. The ideal candidate is a team-oriented problem solver with a positive attitude, eager to learn, grow, and uphold our mission: working to make lives better. This position reports to the Director of Marketing and Business Development.


Essential Responsibilities

• Prepare for meetings with the ability to anticipate colleague and client needs

• Work with the advisor team to analyze, research, propose, and implement financial solutions for clients

and prospective clients

• Attend client meetings, take notes of the meeting, and develop a written Plan of Action

• Communicate with clients in a professional and compliant manner in person, on the Phone, over Zoom,

via email, and via Global Relay text message

• Professionally manage clients’ investment portfolios in alignment with the firm’s Investment Philosophy

and established portfolios

• Commit to lifelong learning, including professional and personal development, as well as contributing to

firm-wide enhancements


Qualifications

• Passion for making lives better through financial planning

• Desire to serve clients as a fiduciary

• Ability to work well within a team and problem solve collaboratively with a positive attitude

• A strong interest in learning the Affiance way, including our Core Values and processes

• Knowledge of the securities industry, financial planning, and investment management

• Financial planning software competency; preferably with Money Guide Pro

• Excellent computer skills, highly proficient with Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Outlook), and the ability

to learn in-house programs and tools

• Strong verbal and written communication skills, including strong interpersonal skills

• Professional demeanor, including being reliable and following-through on commitments

• Ability to maintain full compliance with the Federal Securities Laws and Affiance’s internal policies and

procedures


Education and Experience

• Bachelor’s degree

• 3-5 years experience in Financial Planning

• FINRA licenses: Series 7 and Series 66

• CFP® designation, or eligible to sit for the CFP® exam preferred, but not required

Working Conditions and Physical Requirements

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to speak and listen. The employee is frequently required to walk, sit, stand, reach and use hands in an articulate manner. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus. The position does not require an individual to regularly lift items over 25 lbs.
