Overview
ACS is currently seeking a full-time welder to assist in our fabrication shop located in Verona, Wisconsin.
Responsibilities include fabrication of custom parts and equipment using appropriate and cost-effective fabrication methods and equipment, attention to careful quality control, and ability to maintain effective and thorough communication between all involved parties.
Basic requirements include:
- Previous apprenticeship in fabrication/welding or proven commensurate experience.
- Knowledge and experience with fabrication and piping system build processes.
- Minimum 3 years’ experience with welding and fabrication, producing quality welds.
- Knowledge of proper and effective use of welding equipment and settings for GMAW, FCAW, GTAW welders.
- Experience with heavy weldments required.
- Experience welding aluminum, steel, and stainless steels.
- Can weld in all positions.
- Ability to weld 20 gauge (mild steel, stainless steel) up to 2-inch steel.
- Experience reading and working with fabrication and piping drawings.
- Familiarity with pipe and tube fittings, sizes, and material.
- Experience and training using a forklift and overhead hoist preferred.
- Experience in a shop environment required.
- Experience with but not required rolling, bending, and forming various metals including aluminum, mild steel and stainless steel.
- Ability and knowledge of the use of appropriate hand tools and power tools required.
- Ability to lift up to 50 pounds.
- Valid drivers’ license with good driving record
- Experience in the use of a personal computer; ability to work at a computer keyboard and view emails and work documents on a computer screen.
- Highly effective oral and written communication skills.
- Minimum high school diploma or equivalent required.
- Some travel may be required.
Future growth:
- Potential to be certified in B31.3 ASME and D1.1
