Caregiver / Direct Care Worker

Position Overview:
As a Caregiver / Direct Care Worker, you will provide personal assistance and support to seniors in their homes. You will work under the supervision of the Region Director to ensure every senior has access to our services and can live independently with dignity.
Key Responsibilities:
- Personal Care: Assist with bathing, grooming, dressing, dental care, and toileting (including changing adult diapers and briefs).
- Housekeeping: Perform cleaning duties such as sweeping, vacuuming, dusting, mopping, washing dishes, and general cleaning.
- Meal Preparation: Plan, prepare, and clean up after nutritious meals, including grocery shopping and assisting with feeding when necessary.
- Socialization & Activities: Help encourage consumer participation in social activities and interactions.
- Medication Reminders: Remind consumers about their medications.
- Relationship Building: Establish a trusting and supportive relationship with consumers and their families.
- Reporting: Report any changes in consumer’s physical or mental condition to the Region Director.
- Compassionate Care: Respond to mental, physical, and emotional needs with empathy and seek training to support those with special care needs (e.g., dementia, diabetes).
- Emergency Procedures: Follow appropriate procedures in the event of incidents or significant changes in consumer condition.
- Confidentiality: Maintain strict confidentiality at all times.
Job Expectations:
- Punctuality: Arrive at least 5 minutes before your scheduled start time.
- Shift Commitment: Complete your full shift until relieved by another staff member. Never leave the home without proper staff coverage.
- Communication: Maintain open communication with the Region Director. Bring concerns or suggestions to the Region Director as needed.
- Reliability: Work the schedule approved by the Region Director. Only take time off in emergencies or with prior approval.
- Company Compliance: Adhere to company policies and procedures.
Job Types: Full-time, Part-time
Pay: $10.00 - $11.75 per hour
Expected hours: 28 – 56 per week
