Responsibilities
- Assist clients with daily living activities, including personal hygiene, meal preparation, and medication management.
- Provide emotional support and companionship to enhance the client's social interactions.
- Implement individualized care plans tailored to the specific needs of each client.
- Ensure the safety and comfort of clients by monitoring their physical and emotional well-being.
- Facilitate communication between clients and their families or caregivers regarding care needs and progress.
- Assist with mobility needs, including lifting and transferring clients as necessary.
- Maintain accurate documentation of client progress and any changes in behavior or health status.
- Promote resident rights and dignity while fostering an environment of respect and trust.
Skills
- Experience in dementia care, memory care, or hospice care is highly desirable.
- Knowledge of resident rights and advocacy for individuals with disabilities.
- Ability to perform heavy lifting and assist with physical mobility tasks.
- Certification in CPR is preferred to ensure immediate response in emergencies.
- Experience working with individuals on the autism spectrum or other developmental disabilities is beneficial.
- Strong interpersonal skills to build rapport with clients and their families.
- Patience, empathy, and a genuine desire to help others are essential traits for success in this role.
