Position Summary:
The Affinity Bakery Tech Trainer role will be responsible for supporting our retail accounts and growing the mutual sales and profits of manufacturer’s products through various support activities, primarily in a retail account environment. This position requires daily travel to store/venue locations. Overnight or weekends may be required to support new store opening, remodels or training sessions.
Essential Functions:
- Represent Affinity in an ethical and professional manner
- Daily travel to visit retailers independently to ensure client/customer requirements are met.
- Assist with new store openings/remodels
- Training of customer employees to ensure that their team is developed to handle the complexities of the Bakery and/or Deli departments
- Training of new associates.
- Training experienced associates on new programs.
- Assist and train store personnel with retail execution (product production and merchandising (plan-o-grams).
- Focus on the sale and service of Manufacturer’s products.
- Support the development, implementation, training and execution of all products and programs to ensure success.
- Support direct sales of manufacturers products in person and remotely via phone or customer survey.
- Conduct product checks at customer’s locations
- Conduct product surveys within the competitive market
- Identify and communicate any new items or programs within the market
- Submit Weekly Activity Report to include all important sales and technical related activity
- Build mutual sales and profits
- 2 years teaching or professional training experience
- 2 years sales experience in a food related field
- 2 years of hands-on experience in a bakery or deli or foodservice operation
- Must have knowledge of in-store bakery/deli operations
- Ability to assist in the development, support, training, and implementation of bakery/deli programs as directed.

Physical Requirements / Working Conditions
- 95% daily travel.
- Reliable transportation for daily visits to store/venue locations
- A flexible work schedule is required.
- Typically, early AM to mid PM schedule Monday through Friday.
- Exceptions will include evenings and/or weekends to support new store openings or other customer events.
- Ability to perform hard work in a fast-paced work environment and meet the defined physical activities, (lifting, bending, carrying, pushing, pulling, etc.)
- Ability to lift 30lbs shoulder height unassisted.
- Floor stock rotations of refrigerated and frozen food items in cooler and freezer cases
- Inspection and moving of product in cooler and freezer and storage areas
- Production of food products in store facilities using industrial machinery including ovens, fryers, ranges, etc.
