What are the responsibilities and job description for the Unit Secretary position at Affinity Healthcare Group?
Responsibilities:
1. Responsible for front window during medicating, counseling hours
· To collect patient fees and record payments
· To run daily deposit log detail report
· To reconcile patient fees collected with cash deposit on Daily Cash Log and then give money collected, Daily Deposit Log Detail Report, and Daily Cash Log to Executive Director.
· To inform patients of all required associated treatment information appearing as alerts such as urine sample collection, counseling holds, and medical holds .
2. Responsible for data entry and invoice preparation for all third party billing.
3. Type correspondence reports, etc. as directed by Administrator.
4. Answer telephone, taking messages as appropriate being sure to obtain caller's name, agency, and telephone number with area code, and a brief message .
5. Responsible for the organization of medical records archives.
6. Prepare correspondence and reports, etc. as directed by Administrator.
7. Responsible for the Patient Discharge/No-Show Letters.
8. Assist staff during intake hours as needed .
9. Be knowledgeable of and enforce agency policies and procedures.
10. Other related duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
1. Preferably business school training. Minimum of high school diploma.
2. Experience in collecting fees and cash reconciliation, preferably in a drug treatment facility, bank, or similar setting.
3. Experience in clerical/secretarial skills including but not limited to word processing, using a computer, filing.
4. Knowledge of and experience working with Microsoft Office.
5. Able to accurately type at least 50 words per minute.
6. Excellent organizational skills.
7. To possess the knowledge and understanding of how to recognize and manage an opiate overdose.
8. To understand the clinical benefits and limitations of urine screens , toxicology, and other testing procedures.
9. Knowledge of CPR and Basic Life Support.
10. To be culturally competent.
