Scheduling Specialist Grandview Primary Care Clini

**This position is accepting Scheduling Specialist applications for all of the Primary Care clinics across Birmingham, Al. The locations include, Brook Highland, Cahaba Heights, Chelsea, Columbiana, Greystone, Lee Branch, Liberty Park, Gardendale, Helena, Hoover/Trace Crossings, Homewood, 280, Pelham, Springville, Trussville and Vestavia**

RESPONSIBILITIES

• Schedules, reschedules and cancels appointments as necessary. Provides information regarding inquiries in a professional, friendly manner. Addresses patients’ questions and concerns quickly and courteously
• Operates the multi-line telephone system to answer, screen and transfer calls in a high-volume phone environment
• Takes detailed messages and directs calls and messages to the appropriate recipients
• Effectively communicates with patients, physicians and other staff both within the practice and at outside facilities, providing timely, accurate, and responsive information
• Ensures efficient telephone communication
• Checks voicemails and returns patient calls within 24 hours
• Ensures proper information is documented correctly within patient charts
• Performs other duties as assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS

• High School Diploma or equivalent
• Prior experience with customer service and multi-line phone, preferred
• One-year medical experience in a physician’s office, preferred

SKILLS

• Excellent oral and written communication skills
• Familiarity with Medical Terminology and Electronic Medical Records
• Ability to identify problems and seek appropriate guidance
• Ability to maintain confidentiality
• Ability to use good reasoning and judgment and react calmly in emergency situations
• Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with patients, medical providers, coworkers and public
• Basic computer skills
