Electrical Department Supervisor

The Supervisor of the Electrical Department is responsible for onsite and field repair and service, installations and returns for the facility. The Supervisor of Electrical is responsible for driving Market delivery and installation margins by maximizing internal resources, identifying any constraints, and achieving key performance metrics such as customer satisfaction, on-time delivery, service, and safety of onsite and offsite personnel. Success will be accomplished through value driven execution that fully complies with policies and all relevant laws and regulations. The supervisor of Electrical will maintain excellent service standards, respond efficiently to customer and vendor inquiries, and strive for high customer satisfaction. This role requires a strong understanding of electrical systems, excellent problem-solving skills, and a commitment to safety.

Environment, Health & Safety / EHS

Conducts business in compliance with all Environmental Health & Safety Policies.

Conducts periodic safety meetings and maintains safety documents and logs.

Manages employee health and safety through Safety Save, training, observations, and regularly scheduled assessments.

Ensures operating standards are trained, communicated, and maintained.

Operations

Provides direct and indirect managerial oversight to branch operational employees to include, as applicable :

Journeyman-Electrical

Apprentices-Electrical

Lead Journeyman-Electrical

Familiarity with local electrical codes and regulations, especially those relevant to temporary installations.

Ensure all electrical work is in compliance with relevant codes, regulations, and safety standards.

Maintain a strong commitment to safety protocols, identifying and addressing potential hazards.

Install and maintain electrical systems, wiring, and fixtures in accordance with local and national codes.

Follow electrical blueprints, schematics, and specifications to determine the layout of electrical wiring and equipment.

Inspect electrical components, such as transformers and circuit breakers, and identify potential issues.

Perform routine maintenance on electrical systems to ensure safety and efficiency.

Diagnose and troubleshoot electrical problems, providing effective and timely solutions.

Leadership Responsibilities

Supervision and Leadership : Oversee the daily activities of the electrical team, ensuring tasks are completed efficiently and on schedule.

Team Coordination : Assign tasks and responsibilities to electricians, apprentices, and other team members, ensuring optimal workflow and productivity.

Mentorship : Provide training, guidance, and support to apprentice electricians and service technicians to enhance their skills and performance.

Quality Control : Monitor the quality of work performed by the team, ensuring compliance with all relevant codes, regulations, and safety standards.

Communication : Serve as the primary point of contact for contractors, clients, and other departments regarding electrical installations, repairs, and project progress.

Safety Oversight : Ensure adherence to safety protocols, addressing and mitigating potential hazards on the job site.

Compliance : Ensure all electrical work complies with local electrical codes, regulations, and national standards, particularly for temporary installations.

Technical Tasks :

Install and maintain electrical systems, wiring, and fixtures according to blueprints, schematics, and specifications.

Inspect electrical components, such as transformers and circuit breakers, to identify and address potential issues.

Perform routine maintenance and troubleshoot electrical problems, delivering timely and effective solutions.

Record Keeping : Maintain detailed records of all work performed, including materials used, hours worked, and completed tasks.

Other duties as assigned.

EDUCATION AND QUALIFICATIONS :

Requirements

High school diploma or GED.

Valid Supervising Journeyman Electrician License.

3 years' experience managing 10 or more employees across more than one location.

OR 2 years of electrical experience

MS Office / Excel / Word / Outlook experience

Experience working directly with customers by phone and email.

Strong customer service orientation, active listening, excellent oral / written communication

Ability follow direction and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.

Experience applying creativity to problem-solving.

Build sustainable relationships and trust with vendors through open, proactive communication.

Ability to effectively manage multiple, changing priorities in a fast-paced environment.

Preferred Requirements :

Bachelor's degree preferred.

5 years electrical experience

Project management, quality control and optimization.

Familiarity with directing Journeyman and large projects from start to finish.

Apprenticeship program experience.

Familiarity with DOT compliance and vehicle telematics.

Hours of Service regulations, Electronic Logging Devices, permitting, etc.

Experience working with outside vendors, including pricing and schedule negotiations.
